Kalacha, Oasis nestled in the Chalbi Desert offered for centuries, in addition to its water sources, valuable pastures around the herd in which pastors Gabra nourished.
For several years, the land rights of farmers are threatened, the cycle of drought accelerates, the pastures are under pressure, and the herds are dying of hunger.
These degraded lands are also starting in human beings, of abandoning their nomadic lifestyle to force itself on the edge of the area served by food aid. They become environmental refugees, losing their identity.
Meanwhile, the root causes of desertification worse, and the cancer continues its environmental devastation and its share of victims, among ecosystems resources, men and their herds.

This programme is divided into 3 axes and aims to activate a local economic sector, access to education and the care and protection of ecosystems-resources from pastoral and sedentary populations of Kalacha, village oasis located in the district Marsabit in northern Kenya.
1) Protection of ecosystems Contacts: enhance food security, reforestation programme and anti-desertification for the emergence of a self-sufficiency economy.
Workshops recovery Heritage. Topics: "integrated development of animal husbandry and soil conservation.", "Measures to anticipate ways of intervention in case of drought."
2) Strengthen the community infrastructure and socio-economic development.
