WFE is an environmental NGO apolitical and non-denominational working for harmony between people and their environment :
The history of the association
The priority tasks of WFE focus on the preservation of ecosystems, education, health, and maintaining a balance between sustainable development and respect for the environment.
WFE exercises targeted voluntary actions and local, only able to apprehend on the ground realities at environmental groups of individuals, communities or villages. These actions are different from those of large NGOs whose assistance plans are carried out on a large scale, willingly nationally or supra-national and can present such a degree of accuracy.
WFE has positioned itself as a player thus field whose shares are perfectly complementary to those of other NGOs.
Its purpose is to engage in sustainable development aimed at eradicating conflicts man / environments and to prevent or mitigate adverse impacts of development on the environment and wildlife animal.
WFE's strategy is twofold: 1 / assistance on regions deliberately targeted and geographically limited, creating référentes "pilot areas", 2 / an approach from the outset by not dissociating multi not conflict environmental, food safety, health and education.
The communities appropriating projects are in charge of transmitting knowledge nearby areas, so that development should be strengthened and conveyed by the beneficiaries according to the criteria of self-sufficiency to no longer require external assistance, and respect the total traditions and ethnic identities.
The approach developed by WFE, the result of several years of environmental studies and community-based approaches, relied, in its diagnostic phase, the combination of an observatory and light air crews on the ground, in order to clarify real-time interaction between climatic conditions, development of sedentary populations, fauna and flora.
This "vigilance" environmental permits today to adapt precisely rapid remedial action, along with substantive work, based on schooling, education and sanitation programs.
Within shares of WFE, the approach to the environment, education and preventive health measures are therefore inextricably linked. The support of the people is the sole guarantee of durability of actions taken, WFE pays special attention to demonstrate that the elements of modernity and environmental hygiene it introduces are perfectly compatible with the ancient traditions, involving number of 'local players. The ownership by the people of the actions undertaken is the ultimate goal WFE.
As a first step this specifically in Kenya, WFE has a scientific, socio-economic, educational and cultural as part of the overall strategy to combat poverty in the service of natural heritage of mankind.
